Meet Taylor

Taylor Flynn, MACP, RP (Qualifying)

Associate Therapist

I work with individuals, couples, and families through online psychotherapy across Ontario. My style is warm, conversational, and straightforward. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel heard and understood, while also helping you make sense of what’s happening, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and feel more confident about what to do next.

Sometimes you know something in your life isn’t working, but knowing that and knowing how to change it are two different things. You may find yourself caught in the same thought loops, reacting in ways you don’t fully understand, struggling to communicate what you need, or feeling unsure of where to go from here. Together, we get curious about these experiences, explore the connections between your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, relationships, and past experiences, and identify practical ways to move forward.

Before completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP), I earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and a Social Service Worker diploma from Algonquin College. Early in my career, I worked at a live-in addiction treatment centre for youth, an experience that shaped my understanding of substance use and the impact it can have on both young people and their families.

My approach is practical, compassionate, and tailored to the person in front of me. I draw from Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), while integrating elements of DBT, ACT, and IFS based on each client’s needs and goals.

I sometimes compare therapy to working with a personal trainer: you’re the one doing the work, but you don’t have to figure out how to do it alone. I’m there alongside you to ask questions, offer a different perspective, help you build and practise new skills, and adjust the plan when something isn’t working. You leave sessions feeling understood, but also with greater clarity, confidence, and a sense of what you can do next.

I have particular experience supporting youth navigating substance use, including cannabis use, as well as parents and families navigating these challenges alongside them. I also work with clients who feel overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, uncertain about their direction, or simply want to better understand themselves. You don’t need to have a diagnosis—or even know exactly what to call what you’re experiencing—to come to therapy.

I’m currently accepting new clients and offer a free 15-minute consultation to connect and see if working together feels like the right fit.
